ABOUT POSITIVE SHIFT WELLNESS

Holistic wellness support rooted in education, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the body.

I’m Jennifer Arnold, a Holistic Wellness Practitioner, nervous system educator, author, and lifelong student of health and wellness. I help adults, children, and teens better understand the patterns their bodies may be communicating—from stress responses and nervous system dysregulation to nutrition, hormones, digestion, inflammation, and other areas of whole-body wellness.

My work is centered on helping you connect the dots, understand your options, and move forward with clear, realistic next steps.

My Wellness Journey

My interest in wellness began nearly 30 years ago, when my own health challenges made the search for answers deeply personal in my early twenties. It felt as though I saw nearly every type of doctor whose title ended in “-ologist,” yet I still wasn’t finding the answers or relief I needed. Eventually, it became clear that I would have to explore a different approach.

Working with a functional medicine doctor introduced me to an entirely different way of thinking about the body. Instead of looking at each symptom or system separately, I began considering how the pieces might be connected. That experience sparked what would become a decades-long deep dive into natural and holistic wellness, the body’s interconnected systems, and the many factors that can influence how we feel.

Along the way, I completed numerous programs and explored a wide range of approaches in search of my own healing. Each experience taught me something, but I continued to feel that important pieces were being considered separately rather than as part of one connected system.

Over the past six years, my focus has expanded into an intensive study of the nervous system, particularly how stress, past experiences, emotions, nutrition, hormones, immune patterns, environment, and daily life can influence one another. I became especially interested in understanding why the body can remain in a protective state long after the original stressor or threat has passed.

My own journey taught me that symptoms are not personal failures. They are often signals from a body doing its best to protect, communicate, and adapt. When we slow down, look for patterns, and help the body experience greater safety and support, meaningful change can become possible.

Education and Experience

I bring together more than two decades of education and experience in health, wellness, medical topics, nervous system regulation, and adult learning.

My background includes:

• Holistic Wellness Practitioner training

• Health and wellness coaching

• Nervous system education and regulation

• Master’s degree in education, including distance learning and adult education

• Reiki Master training

• Emotional Freedom Techniques and mind-body approaches

• Clinical aromatherapy and complementary wellness modalities

• More than 28 years of continued coursework and independent study related to health and wellness

• Author of Regulate: A Compassionate Guide to Nervous System Healing

My Philosophy

I don’t believe people should be reduced to a symptom, a diagnosis, or a single lab value. The body is interconnected, and the most helpful insights often appear when we step back and look at the full picture.

My approach may include exploring:

          Nutrition and mineral patterns

          Hormone and metabolic wellness

          Digestive and immune patterns

Stress load and nervous system regulation

          Sleep, environment, and daily habits

Personal history and significant life experiences

Lab results and functional wellness testing

The beliefs, emotions, and protective responses the body may have learned over time

Lab results that fall within a standard reference range do not always explain why someone still feels unwell. I help clients look more closely at their history, symptoms, lab patterns, and lived experiences to identify possible contributing factors and determine supportive next steps.

I also believe that helping children understand and regulate their nervous systems at a young age can influence the course of their lives. When children learn to recognize their body’s signals, understand what is happening inside them, and use supportive tools to move through stress, they are better equipped to manage big emotions, communicate their needs, build resilience, and carry a stronger sense of safety and self-trust into adulthood. This is why nervous system education for children and teens is such an important part of my work.

I do not tell clients what they must believe or ask them to follow a one-size-fits-all protocol. My role is to educate, help you recognize patterns, and support you in making informed decisions that feel appropriate for you or your child.
